General objectives
Correlation II aims to improve prevention, care and treatment services, targeting blood-borne infectious diseases (BBID), in particular Hepatitis C and HIV/AIDS, among vulnerable and high risk populations (e.g. drug users and young people at risk) by:
- Increasing the access to services and the quality of health promotion interventions
- Strengthening capacities among health service providers
- Influencing health policies
Strategic objectives
- To identify and develop strategies and interventions by reviewing models of good practice, by implementing field tests and by developing guidance documents for practitioners
- To support and strengthen capacities of health service providers and other players in the area, by maintaining a European network in the field of health promotion, prevention, care and treatment (facilitating exchange and mutual support), by providing information and data (centre of expertise) and by developing and implementing training and skill-building modules
- To develop policies by evaluating the health, social and economic impacts of existing policies and by formulating evidence based policy recommendations with respect to BBID in Europe
